What a waste of resources and time. I watched this a while ago yet still am apprehensive to acknowledge the fact; I even worked on the premier of this steaming cesspit of vacuous garbage in Southbank, London. Both experiences had me considering pulling my teeth out. The best thing about Wonka, with no shadow of a doubt, was the reclining seats and 45 min nap I had in the cinema. If Jacque Demy knew what he has caused here he would have had Catherine Deneuve sing as much as Polanski did. Shamefully insipid, this is what you hope cinema never becomes. But dismayed I am to see that this is what it sometimes must be. The modern musical is beyond embarrassing.
